Visakhapatnam Cricket Stadium
2019 couldn’t have got off to a better start for Team India. The Virat Kohli-led brigade registered its first Test series victory Down Under earlier this month before humbling the Australians in the ODI series as well. The two teams will once again lock horns in February for 2 T20Is and 5 ODIs. While the upcoming tour of Australia has already got the fans excited, it promises to be even more special for Visakhapatnam.
Australia’s tour will be kicking off with the first T20 international in Bengaluru. The second T20, much to the delight of the fans in the city, will be played at the ACA-VDCA cricket stadium on 27 February in Visakhapatnam.
A special meeting was held in the city on Tuesday to review the arrangements to be made for the high-voltage match. Apart from discussing the arrangements, the officials also announced the ticket prices. Reportedly, the tickets will be priced at Rs 500, Rs 1200, Rs 1600, Rs 2000, Rs 4000 and will soon be made available online for the fans.
Following the T20I series, the two teams will battle it out in a 5-match ODI series to be played in Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ranchi, Mohali and Delhi.
India last played a match in Visakhapatnam in October 2018. The men in blue took on West Indies in a bilateral ODI series. The match witnessed Virat Kohli go past 10,000 runs in ODI as he continued his love affair with the city.
