Students from Visakhapatnam have managed to procure good ranks in the IIT-JEE (advanced) examination this year. They have contributed immensely to the overall success of Andhra Pradesh.
While it is unknown how many candidates have exactly been qualified from the city for admission in IITs, 580 students have qualified just from FIITJEE, Narayana-Chaitanya and Ascent College.
Amongst the toppers are three students from Visakhapatnam who have made it to the all-India Top-100. A Abhishek from Ascent Junior College ranked 19 all over India and M Dinesh from the same college ranked 90. K Rama Prasad from Narayana-Chaitanya Institute ranked 69. The institute holds 489 rank holders this year. L Tarun Kumar from FIITJEE holds the 217 all India rank. FIITJEE has 91 qualifiers and Ascent College has 58 qualifiers this year.
1.71 lakh students appeared for the exam on May 21 this year across the country in 500 centres.
