Port City Sees a Shortage of Hotel Rooms

The upcoming Mahanadu is making it very difficult for visitors of the smart city to book a room at any hotel. There have been above 5000 rooms booked at hotels for the VIPs and the TDP leaders who will be in the city for this three- day meeting from the 27 of May to the 29.

Sources reportedly say that they are expecting more than 25,000 TDP members from AP and Telangana states to participate in this annual plenary. The sources also added that the accommodation committee for the Mahanadu is being headed by the HRD minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and he is trying to call up hotels and find out about the availability of the rooms to be booked for the members who have not booked for themselves as of now.

However, the city has 23 star hotels with around 2000 rooms another 2000 rooms in small hotels and big lodges apart from 1000 rooms in the service apartments. The party cadres from AP and Telangana are most likely to be in the city by the 26 of May and will be staying in college hostels and Kalyanamandapams.

The police forces are expecting more than 4000 vehicles and around 35o buses to arrive in the city from across the state for the three-day meeting. The traffic forces have already started their work in identifying parking spaces for so many vehicles.
