Andhra Pradesh Tourism has tied up with Stayzilla and Rightstay to boost tourism in the state. Picking up on the concept of homestays, the AP Tourism Director Himanshu Shukla has exchanged MoUs with Swapnil Vats of Rightstay and Ankit Rastogi of Stayzilla.
Rightstay and Stayzilla offer homestays across the country and will now be tying up with the AP Tourism Department. Homestays allow tourists to experience the true culture of a place by offering accommodation with locals who rent out their houses or rooms to guests. The flexibility and authenticity homestay offers is what the tourism department is looking for.
The point of introducing homestays is not just to offer tourists genuine experiences the ‘Andhra Pradesh way’ but to also create a sustainable livelihood for rural people. Rightstay and Stayzilla will help the tourism department conduct verification and screening procedures and be an active part of the service and quality assurance committee.
Andhrites who own properties can soon register for homestay and earn while renting out their rooms or houses to guests. Tourists will look through properties and choose as per their requirement. The flexibility in check-in and check-out timings are just one of the perks of homestays. Rightstay plans to expand to Andhra Pradesh by the end of next year.
