helicopter tourism
We all know what a beautiful city Vizag is. Now, how awesome would it be to see its beauties from the skies? The sights of our beloved city amidst of lush green hills and the deep blue waters from a helicopter would be an enthralling experience.
Thankfully, the Heli tourism project, which was proposed a few years back, is close to becoming a reality in our city. The talks between the Visakha Urban Development Authority (VUDA) and the Pawan Hans company have seemingly come to a consensus. Presumably, we should soon have helicopters whizzing in the skies above us.
They’re thinking of implementing the plan for 3 months on a trial basis. Subsequently, depending on the response received, the project would be extended to Arakku and Annavaram as well.
Initially, the choppers will be flying over the areas of Kailsagiri, Fish yard, Erra Matti Dibbalu, and RK Beach among others. The first stage of the project will use the Single engine and five seater helicopters. Eventually, as the crowd begins to grow, double engined and a twelve seater helicopters will be used.
The trial run will commence once all the permissions required are granted. Coming to the prices, they authorities are planning to charge a sum of Rs 2500 for a 10-minute tour.
In the past, the talks between the VUDA and the Sky Chappers company didn’t materialize and the project came to a halt. Later on, Pawan Hans entered the scene and the talks have made a progress since then. Now, two other companies have made proposals to the VUDA expressing their interest in the project. Various factors such as experience, work efficiency, and budget proposals will be taken into consideration before a call is taken.
It’ll be interesting to see who’ll bag the project.
All said and done, helicopter tourism will prove to be a major boon to the city’s tourism, Let’s hope this happens soon so that we all can explore our city from Unconquered perspectives!
