The sun has been beating down quite hard on the Telugu states for the past few weeks. The temperatures have been on a constant rise and if the latest update from the weather officials is anything to go by, the citizens seem to be in for a tougher time ahead. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), on Monday, has issued a heat wave warning for Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh for two days, on Wednesday and Thursday.
The weather officials have also issued a warning for a thunderstorm in South Coastal region of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday. “The heatwave condition will now intensify as dry weather is prevailing across the state. Some parts of north coastal Andhra may witness thunderstorm activity. Notwithstanding this, temperatures will go up and humidity will also intensify. As days go by coastal Andhra Pradesh will experience heatwave conditions,” K Nagarathna of the IMD told New Indian Express
.With heat wave likely to exasperate in the next two days, the temperatures in certain parts of Andhra Pradesh are likely to witness a rise by 2 to 3 degrees. Dry weather conditions were observed in parts on Rayalaseema on Monday, the highest temperature being recorded around 38-39 degrees Celsius.
It has also been informed that coastal areas of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam
, East Godavari, and West Godavari are likely to experience thunderstorms. Furthermore, a few isolated areas in coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to witness thundershowers.
