Google Future Classroom For Smart City Visakhapatnam

Google Classroom has been adopted by the Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Limited (GVSCCL) for the Smart City that Visakhapatnam is soon to be. The move will help in providing holistic education to students of the district.

M Hari Narayanan, Commissioner of GVMC announced a three-year partnership with IL&FS Education and Technology Services Ltd. The education partner of Google for Education will be providing hardware, software, training and certification to the schools in the city. 31 schools are now being enabled with this solution for a start.

Keeping in mind the Smart City mission, internet-ready and future-ready classrooms are the need of the hour. Google Classroom will enable students to learn via web technologies like apps and interactive content. The move will help bring about the digital classrooms needed via K-Yan and offer students personalised learning with the use of Chromebooks that will be provided to them.

GSuite for Education and Chromebooks will be handed over to the schools under the partnership. Chromebooks will showcase content in English and Telugu and they come with a Chrome Management Console (CMC). Teachers will go through skill training for the enhancement of the classroom experience and they will receive a two educator level certification.
