Marry like Gods- Andhra Pradesh’s unique marriage that’s making news

How fancy can a wedding be? You must have been to many lavish weddings or even heard of some eminent personalities spending a bomb on one. But have you witnessed a marriage with ‘God’ as the theme? This is what exactly happened in the town of Tanuku (in Andhra Pradesh) on October 6th.

Theme based marriages are gaining popularity nowadays. Some get married in the space while some dream of saying “yes” atop the Eiffel Tower. But the God-themed marriage that happened in Andhra Pradesh is stealing the thunder from all. The marriage saw the bride and bridegroom dress up like Gods. While the girl was dressed as Goddess Laxmi, the boy donned the avatar of Lord Vishnu. Apart from the bride and the bridegroom, the guests too were dressed in fancy attires. The girl’s parents were dressed up like King and Queen.

This peculiar themed wedding was organized for the daughter of Tanuku’s local Godman, Sridhar Swami. The Godman is widely popular across the Telugu states for his appearances in several spiritual programmes like ‘Dharma Sandehalu’. Sridhar Swami even has an ashram in Mukkamala near Tanuku. Talking to The News Minute, the Godman said that he wanted to represent the fact that bride is an incarnation of Goddess Laxmi, both metamorphically and physically.

Here are a few photos from the wedding.

All said and done, this is one marriage to remember!!
