GITAM University in Visakhapatnam takes a modern pace forward by adding Cyber Security to its repertoire by the Information Technology Dept.

Visakhapatnam is proud of it’s premier university i.e the GITAM University for the endeavours to stay on top of the game. In an age where advancements in Information technology have wrought vast changes in our day to day life, keeping a check on it is of prime importance. Information Technology Department of GITAM University has thus set up a Cyber Security lab to address this. With very high-end facilities that focuses on penetration testing, web application hacking, network based hacking, wireless hacking and mobile based hacking related issues, it is a practical and much-in-demand field nowadays.

It follows that this step has brought in congratulations from all. It now offers Information Technology students who are interested to explore Cyber Security. A concern that we are hearing more frequently than ever before. Special Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh State Technical Education GS Panda Das inaugurated the lab here on Tuesday.  Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna and Registrar Prof M Potharaju were among others present on the occasion. GS Panda Das emphasised spoke of the increasing need for cyber security and the vital role it plays in multiple areas of information technology.

The lab at GITAM University is sure to draw attention and interest as it follows industry requirements and needs of modern times.
