Four-wheeler rams into a teenager following brake failure in Vizag

In a tragic road accident, a teenager died after a four-wheeler hit him while crossing the road in Vizag. The incident happened at the Four-Road Junction near Visakha Dairy, under Gajuwaka Police Station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Ch Madhu Sai, a 13-year-old boy. According to the police, the victim, an eighth class student was studying in a private school. Reportedly, he was going home after classes on Monday evening. At the same time, a four-wheeler was heading towards Gajuwaka from NAD Junction. Near the junction, the driver of the four-wheeler realised that the brakes of the vehicle failed. He allegedly tried to divert the vehicle onto the divider to avoid casualties. In an unfortunate turn of events, the driver mowed down the student. The boy was gravely injured in the accident. The victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital. However, the 13-year-old boy succumbed to the injuries and passed away while undergoing treatment.

A case about the road accident involving the teenager has been registered at Gajuwaka Police Station in Vizag. The investigation is on. Furthermore, victim’s body has been sent to King George Hospital (KGH) in Vizag for post-mortem.

It may be recalled that, earlier in this month, tragedy struck when a 47-year-old woman died in a road accident in Vizag. The accident took place at around 4 PM at Kurmannapalem Junction in Vizag when the victim was travelling along with her husband on a bike. While the husband survived the accident and is undergoing treatment for injuries, the woman, unfortunately, died on the spot.
