Former AP Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah passes away at 88
Former Chief Minister of State of Andhra Pradesh, pre-bifurcation, and ex-Governor of Tamil Nadu, Konijeti Rosaiah, passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Reportedly, Konijeti Rosaiah’s pulse rate dropped at his home in Hyderabad, and was shifted to a hospital immediately where he breathed his last at 5:30 am.
Konijeti Rosaiah was elected as a legislative member of the Congress party in 1968. Since then he has been serving the country in various positions. He also holds a record of presenting the budget 16 times in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly (pre-bifurcation).
After the sudden demise of the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, in 2009, Rosaiah, who was serving as the State Finance Minister, was elevated as the State’s Chief Minister. He was subsequently appointed as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.
