Flights delayed at Visakhapatnam airport due to poor visibility

The arrival and departures of the early morning flights were delayed yesterday morning due to the poor visibility at the Visakhapatnam airport. Five different flights were rescheduled from various destinations by 8:30 a.m. due to heavy fog in the area.

“The Hyderabad flight – 66E 608 IndiGo Vizag was scheduled to take off from the Visakhapatnam airport at 8:05 a.m. but due to lack of proper visibility, it was rescheduled and took off at 11:10 a.m.”, told a passenger.

The Airport director Vinod Sharma said, “Visibility at the airport early in the morning was less than 100 metres. It improved after 8.30 a.m. The other flights, whose landing and take off was delayed, were those of the IndiGo coming from Bangalore, Delhi, and Chennai. All the flights landed and took off after visibility improved”.

AI952 was the first flight to land in Vizag from Dubai. It landed at 9:40 a.m. while it was supposed to land at 8 a.m.
