Vizag to have Fire and Disaster Management Training Institute soon

The State Disaster Response and Fire services department is in a forethought to set up a fire and disaster management training institute in Vizag.

The Director General of State Disaster Response and Fire services, K Satyanarayana divulged this information at a meeting organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The Confederation of Indian Industry works to make a favourable environment for the growth of industry in India.

This institute will not only train the department staff but will open to individuals from all walks of life. The idea of this training is to enhance the voluntary force. It is to improve the skills of private security staff of the industries and shopping malls as they are the first responders to an emergency.

The construction will start as soon as the No Objection Certificate (NOC) application process is done. According to the sources, Satyanarayana stated that efforts were on to make the provisional NOC application process online by the end of the year.
