10 things we hope would soon be realities in Vizag

From being known as a sleepy fishing hamlet to announcing itself as one of the most happening cities in South India, Vizag has certainly come a long way over the past many years. As this beautiful city keeps reinventing itself and continues to throw many surprises at us, here are 10 more things that we wish would soon be realities in Vizag.

Addressing the traffic woes

Growing traffic and parking woes still rank high up on the list of infrastructural needs, and perhaps a more enticing public transport system is needed.

More international eateries, please?

With the much-renowned international food joints their outlets in the city, we await the launch of a few more major international food joints to add to the excitement. Why haven’t Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Burger King still not opened up in the city?

Beach Vigilantes

It’s high-time the ever-rising deaths at the beach are brought under control. Vizag beaches need trained and clearly visible lifeguards who are vigilant and easily approachable in emergencies.

A larger array of branded organisations

While the government authorities have announced that many IT companies would be coming to Vizag, bigger names still need to set up shop in the city.

Fly high!

We are still waiting patiently for the promised International Airport in Bhogapuram and major international airlines.

Vivid shopping options

The desire for the designer-wear stores still necessitates a trip to the big cities or splurging online, and is on our ‘we want’ list.

For a brighter future

The city needs experienced counsellors to help students explore viable alternatives to the standard streams of Engineering and Medicine, which continue to rule.

Public consciousness

Public consciousness; while many Vizagites actually look around for a dustbin or public loo, there are some who just refuse to change.

A safer space

We need a super-speciality hospice and renowned doctors in the city.

An international host

Shouldn’t we now be playing host to more international level sporting events?
