Delay In Receiving Question Paper Leads To Cancellation Of The Exam

Candidates appearing for the Field Assistant Trainee post examination were in for a major disappointment on Sunday, due to last-minute cancellation of the exam . 55,000 candidates had appeared for this examination, details of which had been advertised by the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. 77,000 candidates had submitted their applications online and held the qualification of matriculation or SSC pass for the 91 available posts of Field Assistant Trainee.

However, the candidates who appeared couldn’t do anything but be shocked when they were asked to leave the examination center after being told that they couldn’t receive the question papers from Delhi on time. This last-minute cancellation has led to protests at Maddilapalem, Anakapalle, Vizianagaram and other places, with strong criticism by the trade unions. The applications for this examination had been received from across the country and the examination was supposed to be conducted at 45 centres in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram during the afternoon session. In the morning session the examination for 645 posts of the Junior Trainee had been successfully conducted. The pay package for the Junior Field Assistants would be Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000 while the CTC for Junior Trainees is Rs 40,000 per month.

Question papers should be received two hours in advance, before the commencement of the examination. This however did not happen for this examination, as the flight from Delhi has been cancelled. As per sources the new date for the examination will be given out soon. Authorities said that cases should be booked against those found guilty for degrading the RINL brand.
