Visakhapatnam’s railway station is all set to go eco-friendly

In what is coming as a heartening news to all the citizens of Visakhapatnam, the city’s railway station is all set to made environment-friendly.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited- Visakha Refinery has come forward to revamp the railway station as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The firm will be providing various equipment so as to make Visakhapatnam’s station an even cleaner one and make strides towards the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

In regard to the same, an MoU was signed by Senior Divisional Railway Manager G Suneel Kumar and General Manager-HR Narisetty Raja Rao of HPCL-VR in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur and others.

Efforts are being taken to transform the city’s railway station into a smarter one by equipping it with the required gear. HPCL-VR, which will be taking the onus of making the station an environment-friendly one, has extended cooperation to provide pet bottle recycling machines, garbage recyclers, stainless steel dustbins, and grass cutters among others in order to achieve the same. The estimated cost of providing these various kinds of equipment has been reported to be around Rs 22 lakh.

As a matter of fact, Visakhapatnam is the cleanest railway station in India in A-1 category. The newer plans, after being implemented, will hopefully make the place even a better place for the travelers.
