If you’ve always wanted Vizag to have a drive-in, à la ones in metro cities, your prayers have been answered.
Drive along the Lawson’s Bay stretch and a huge space with parked vehicles catches your eye. White picket fences stand guard to an L-shaped structure with glowing lights strung up all over the place. Colourful and bright sign boards light up the night further, announcing the names of various food counters available at the Vizag Drive-In.
One can find the various counters here serving everything from pizza and ice cream to Chinese food and dosas. The Pietza Pizza, Ice Crème, Grill Citi, Little Idli, Makers of Milkshake, Burgers and Grills, Red Roast and Mr Pulao counters bring along with them unique offerings like wood-fried pizza, shawarma, Thai ice cream rolls and more. The laid-back open-door seating with chicly bleached wooden furniture, and cool breeze blowing in from the shore only add to the spontaneous vibes the place gives out.
A team of well-groomed and courteous staff will also take your order and serve you food right in the confines of your car, if outdoor seating doesn’t appeal to you.
