Doctor turns killer, one dead, one severely injured

A doctor turned killer killing one and severely injuring the other in a gruesome accident in Vijaywada.

The doctor accused here was involved in a severe road accident that has claimed the life of one and left the other admitted in hospital with severe injuries. His car ran over the pedestrians while crossing the skew bridge in Vijaywada. The unfortunate status of the victims remains that he hasn’t been identified. There was no identification card found on his person after the killer brush with death. The accused doctor is an anesthetist in the NRI Hospital in Mangalgiri by the name of Devabattula Harshavardan. In fact he was on his way to the hospital when this unfortunate incident occurred.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. the doctor was crossing the bridge when out of nowhere the two pedestrians stepped before his car. The proximity of the victims was too much and there was no scope of applying brakes to stop the car. Onlookers rushed to the spot ans stopped the car. The information was passed on to Krishna Lanka police outpost.

The deceased who has not been identified is awaiting post mortem. The injured is yet to regain consciousness and is awaited for more information. The speed of the vehicle was in admissible limits and it is clearly not a case of over speeding. This is the information by the police. A case has been booked under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code and the car has been imopunded.
