Music director Devi Sri Prasad to make his acting debut

Apart from wooing the audience with their tunes, a few music directors have also made a mark as actors too. In the latest addition to the list, star musician Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his acting debut in a lead role. Reportedly, the movie’s script will be written by filmmaker Sukumar while it will be directed by one of his assistants. Also, reports claim that renowned producer, ‘Dil’ Raju, in association with ‘Sukumar Writings’, will be bankrolling the film under his ‘Sri Venkateswara Productions’ banner.

Fondly known as DSP, the music director is a famous name in the Tamil industry as well, which might reportedly make the producers release the film in Tamil too. While there were speculations earlier that the musician might be launched under Sukumar’s direction, the project never really took off.

Devi Sri Prasad is no stranger to acting. He has made several cameo appearances in movies such as ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’, ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’, ‘Attarintiki Daredi, ‘Julayi’, and ‘Khaidi No 150’ among others. The makers are now searching for an actress to play the female lead in the upcoming film.

It may be noted that Devi Sri Prasad and Sukumar share a long time association. The duo has been working with each other since Arya (2004). Some of their other well-known collaborations include Arya 2 (2009), 100% Love (2011), 1 Nennokkadine (2013) and Rangasthalam (2018) among others.
