The cyclone Kyant that posed a threat to coastal Andhra has reportedly reached a state of deep depression. Kyant will only continue to further weaken in the next 24 hours – the IMD bulletin claims. A bulletin on the site reads –
‘The Deep Depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved further west-southwestwards in past 06 hours with speed 17 kmph and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of 27th October, 2016 over westcentral Bay of Bengal, near Latitude 15.7º N and Longitude 85.5º E, about 320 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam and 460 km east of Machilipatnam and 600 km east-northeast of Nellore.’
It is most likely to move further west-southwest and weaken before making a landfall over South coastal Andhra or North Tamil Nadu. Fisherman are still advised against venturing out to sea and light to moderate rainfall is expected.
The cyclone Kyant have given good rains to various parts of Odisha, West Bengal and Bangladesh.
When we last updated; the cyclone was expected to reach deep depression by October 29 and the cyclone was speeding at 70-80 kmph.
