The famous hilltop tourist spot, Kailasagiri, receives a number of visitors as it is one of the preferred choices for leisure and enjoyment in Vizag. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Ch Satyanarayana (26) and a 22-year-old woman, who attempted a suicide pact together on Saturday night in Vizag. Reportedly, the attempt was actioned by consuming beverages laced with pesticide.
The couple was found at Kailasagiri by early morning walkers on Sunday. After being alerted with the information, Arilova Police Station CI Ashok Kumar SI Apparao reached the spot immediately. While Satyanarayana was reported dead after consuming the poison, the girl was still alive and immediately taken to KG Hospital where she is battling for her life. Premilinary investigation of this suicide case in Vizag suggests that the individuals were in a relationship.
Suicide notes, found at the site, do not blame anybody for their suicide. Additionally, no specific reason was mentioned in the letter as to why they were taking the extreme step. Even the families were not aware of their relationship and had no idea that they were going to end their lives.
Both the individuals are natives of Adaru, a village under Veeraghattam Mandal, in Srikakulam district residing as neighbours. Reports claim that the woman, along with her family, shifted to Gajuwaka a few years back.
