Collapse of concrete slab kills 3 year old in Vizag.

A very tragic news for the people of Vizag. Koda Gautum, a sprightly young lad of 3 years is lost to us in a horrific incident on Monday. The toddler passed away on the spot due to a concrete slab collapse on him. The incident happened at Surya Chandra Playschool in Visaalakshi Nagar in Vizag. The child unbeknownst of awaiting horror was coming back from the toilet when this happened. Onlookers who arrived first claim that no one from the school was aware of this. The management and supervisors in the school were absent.

The bereaved father, Gopal Prakash is a civil constable who has moved to Vizag 6 years ago. His friends had declared the school to be a good one. The toddler had joined school in February and celebrated his birthday 3 months ago. Gopal received a phone call regarding his son in a fatal accidental. He rushed to the hospital to discover his son dead.

The concrete slab was a part of the the school roof. The father has accused the school of negligence in maintenance for the collapse. The school management have not contacted the parents nor have they responded in any way. Constables who were sent for interrogation have found the school locked.

The child’s body has been sent for autopsy to King George Hospital. The rescue workers claim that it took them 15 minutes to clear the debris. It was only then that the body could be recovered.
