Cold wave in Andhra Pradesh has been taking a toll of numerous individuals over the past few days. Visakhapatnam district too has been experiencing a severe drop in temperatures and it has been reported that the cold wave in the district has claimed six lives.
Cyclone Phethai has caused a drop in temperatures in Visakhapatnam. With the temperatures dropping 3-5 degrees below the usually recorded ones, blankets and pullovers are no longer left dusting the racks.
While the maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 24 degrees Celsius at Visakhapatnam airport, the nights were reported to be cooler. It has also been learned that cold winds are likely to intensify from Thursday, the temperatures are expected to drop further.
With Cyclone Phethai causing changes in the district’s weather and intensifying the cold conditions in Araku Valley. Strong cold winds, accompanied by foggy weather, led to the demise of Shetti Ammanna (48), Gajula Manglayya (40) in Araku. Badnayani Endanna, Pangi Venkataramana, Marisha Gajjam Naidu, and Adinarayana were among the others who lost their lives because of the adverse weather persisting in Visakhapatnam over the past few days.
The cold wave has been bothering Telangana too. Reportedly, close the 13 people became the victims of the biting cold weather in the state.
