‘Cleanup Your Wardrobe’ for a good cause

‘Cleanup your Wardrobe’ is a campaign taken up by the NGO ‘Trendsetters Charitable Trust’. The main aim of the campaign is to donate your old clothes (used but not torn) for the needy this winter. We, the people of Vizag can be seen shuddering even in the lightest cold breeze and have a something to cover ourselves with, but the people living on the streets, slums or orphanages do not have the luxury to do so. They suffer the most during winters. We all have many clothes that we are tired of wearing or are just lying around in the house, Cleanup Your Wardrobe is a chance for us to get them used for making someone happier.

The campaign that has already started will accept donations till the 16th of November. We can donate at various points in the city – Allipuram main road, opposite Ramalayam Temple; Meecons Office at Lawson’s Bay Colony, RTC Complex and at PM Palem.

Last year, the NGO received clothes and new footwear from Chandigarh, and people from the Navy and Airforce also were very generous. The NGO started 4 years ago by a group of four; conducts 10 awareness camps every year. Apart from these they also conduct various Blood Donation and Dental Camps for orphanages, people from tribal areas and slums.

Wealth out of waste (WOW) is one of their yearly campaigns where they collect old newspapers and magazines from people. They then sell it and the amount gained from it goes for buying notebooks and geometry boxes for children. They also conduct workshops and show documentaries on environmental awareness for children in orphanages.
