Secondary Grade Teacher Secures Third Rank in Civils

Ronaki Gopala Krishna (29) of Srikakulam district, who works as a secondary  grade teacher at the Regulapadu MPP school in Palasa (Srikakulam district) secured all-India third rank in the Civil Service examination, 2016, as conducted by the Union Public Service Examination. He attempted the examination in Telugu language and the results for the same were declared on Wednesday. Gopala Krishna has made the whole of Andhra Pradesh proud with his hard work and determination. He was earlier short listed for AP Public Services Commission Group-1 interviews in 2011 and cleared the recent Group-1 and group 2 preliminary examinations as well. Since then, he has been preparing for the Civils in Hyderabad.

He studied in a government school and completed his intermediate course with maths, physics and chemistry at the Government Junior College, Palasa. Then he underwent a two year teacher’s training course at Dubacharla in West Godavari and was selected as a government teacher in 2006. Getting a job was his first priority as he had to earn his own livelihood. Son of Appa Rao, a farmer, and Rukminamma, he has been a merit student right from his school days.

He graduated from MR college in Vizianagaram. Incidentally his teacher who is physically handicapped, Bala Lata, secured the 167^th rank and heads the training institute where Gopala Krishna studied. Gopala Krishna appeared for the UPSC interview in Telugu and his optional subject in mains was Telugu literature. He has been preparing for the above examination since eleven years finally reached his goal in a fourth attempt.

The top 25 candidates ranking in civils comprised of 18 men and 7 women. Nandani KR, who belongs to Karnataka, topped the civil services examination. Nandani is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, and at present is undergoing a training at the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad. Anmol Sher Singh, the topper among male candidates secured second rank. He is an engineering graduate in computer science from BITS, Pilani.
