Chandrababu Naidu urges PM Modi to fulfill the promises made to Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday and urged him to fulfill the promises made to Andhra Pradesh in the Andhra Pradesh Recognition Act.

At the end of the hour-long meeting, a 17-page memorandum was submitted to the Prime Minister in accordance with the same.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took to his Facebook Page to inform the people regarding the main points that were discussed in the meeting.

The Chief Minister urged PM Modi to sanction Rs 58,000 crore for the state’s prestigious project at Polavaram. It was also brought to Mr. Narendra Modi’s notice that the state is yet to receive Rs 3,000 crore from the centre towards the charges incurred on the Polavaram Project so far.

Mr. Naidu requested the PM to take the necessary steps to increase the number of seats in the State Assembly from 175 to 225 as per the commitment in the Reorganization Act.

Andhra Pradesh is also awaiting Rs 16,000 crore to be released in the form of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs).

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu even urged the Prime Minister to quickly resolve the issue of the special railway zone and release the remaining funds out of the Rs 11,000 crore promised in the 13th schedule.

It has also been learned that the CM has sought financial assistance from the centre for the construction of the state’s new capital Amaravati.
