Taking you down memory lane, we are here with the nicknames of these places in Andhra Pradesh.

Can you guess the nicknames of these places in Andhra Pradesh?

Go ahead and take a guess!

#1 Pensioner’s Paradise

Once known as Cocanada, Kakinada was an erstwhile Dutch colony. With a grid-like network, Kakinada is a well-planned city furnished with excellent road, rail, air, and port connectivity. Given the laid-back languor of the city, Kakinada has come to be known as pensioner’s paradise.

#2 City of destiny

Fondly called as the city of destiny, Vizag is a quaint beautiful city by the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Touted to soon become the Executive Capital of Andhra Pradesh, Vizag has many tags to it. From being the base of the Eastern Naval command to being a tourist hub, the city has got it all.

#3 Cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh

Located 190 km away from Vizag, the place lies on the banks of Godavari. A perfect mélange of culture and tradition, the city is home to ancient temples, scenic spots, and scrumptious food.

#4 Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh

Popularly known as Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh, Lambasingi or Lammasingi is a quaint hamlet in Visakhapatnam District. Situated 1000 m above sea level, the area is cooler than the surrounding plains and is covered in moist deciduous forest cover. Standing out as a huge tourist attraction, strawberry picking is not to be missed at Lambasingi.

#5 Ooty of Andhra Pradesh

Araku is a variegated valley with lofty mountains, deep jungles, waterfalls, and twirling streams. Fields of paddy, mustard, sunflower and spice paint the valley in a striking palette of colours. The winding road towards Araku lead to the Anantagiri Hills and the coffee plantations that produce the famed Araku coffee.

#6 Poor Man’s Ooty

Termed as the poor man’s Ooty, Srikakulam was once known for its cool climate even in summer. Four rivers – Vamsadhara, Nagavali, Mahendratanaya, and Bahuda which pass through the district contributed to cool temperatures. But for the past few years, the district was witnessing rise in temperatures due to industrial pollution and construction activities.
