Bill Gates Foundation to hold a major, new Hackathon in Visakhapatnam

The biggest ever Hackathon for Agriculture in India is happening on November 15th in Visakhapatnam, brought to us by Bill Gates Foundation.

This Agriculture Hackathon is the first of it’s kind here and the biggest ever in the country. It is happening for 3 continuous days in Visakhapatnam, starting from November 15th. Information and details have been given out by P Rajasekhar who is the Principal Secretary of Agriculture. This plan which is being organised by the Bill Gates Foundation is turning out to be huge and ambitious. A plan to help the marginal and small farmers come closer to accessing modern technology and know how. New, different and a huge step, this Hackathon is like never before.

As reported by TelenganaToday – “The agri hackathon would be organised under the aegis of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with Delberg international agency as consultant. Nearly 300 delegates from India and abroad, 500 farmers and 250 students would attend the three-day event. About 50 stalls would also be set up to display modern farming methods through science and technology.”

The attendees are all major central and state stakeholders and policy makers. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to attend all 3 days of the Hackathon and will be inaugurating the auspicious event on November 15th in Visakhapatnam. Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimran Kaur Badal would attend on the final day. Bill gates will be present for the Valedictory Function.
