Submarine Training School
The 89th Sailors Basic Submarine course and 90th Officers Basic Submarine Course passed out from the Submarine Training School on 24 March, 2017. A passing out ceremony was organised where Captain Mukul Surange, Commanding Officer INS Satavahana, Chief Guest for the occasion gave away the trophy and the book prizes to trainees.
INS Satavahana is the premier training establishment imparting world class sub-marine and escape training to meet the stringent performance objectives and exacting standards of the Submarine Arm. It is the only integrated training establishment in the Indian Navy, as it carries out training for all branches of officers and sailors of the IN Arm including friendly foreign Navies.
Amit Singh Bais, Mech-3 stood first in Academics among sailors and Brij Mohan, Mech-4 was adjudged the best all round sailor. Lt Deepak Kandel stood first in the Academics and Lt Mohit Sharma was adjudged best all round officer. The trainees will now be joining operational submarines for the sea phase and will be awarded coveted dolphin badge on successful completion of sea training.
