The automotive giant Ashok Leyland is all geared to set up a manufacturing unit in our city. There were talks of the Chennai based manufacturer to set up here and reportedly the news is true. Operations are soon to kickstart in the city.
On a plus note, setting up the manufacturing unit will provide direct employment to 1000 people and reduce cost on freight and logistics.
Ashok Leyland is reportedly looking forward to collaborate with the government of Andhra Pradesh, calling it progressive in thinking and approach. Our state currently ranks number two in ‘ease of doing business’. Andhra Pradesh is currently the most sought after destination in the industry, putting the state on the map for potential investors.
Ashok Leyland has five facilities in Pantnagar, Alwar, Bhandara, Hosur and Ennore and more in Middle East and UK. It is looking forward to expand to countries like Kenya, Dammam, Saudi and Ivory Coastland too.
