Arjun Rampal’s brother-in-law booked by Mumbai police for harassing air hostess

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s brother-in-law, Amit Gill, has been booked by the Mumbai police for allegedly molesting and threatening an air hostess, the Mumbai Mirror reported. Gill, who is married to Arjun Rampal’s sister Komal, reportedly invited the woman to his house, took obscene photos of her and threatened to defame her.

It has been reported that Gill took a sum of Rs 18 lakhs from the victim promising her good returns. However, he did not return her the amount when asked and instead threatened to malign her image online by releasing her nude pictures

“My common friend told me she had invested around Rs 80 lakh with Gill, and he was offering good returns. She advised me to also invest with Gill and said he could help me get the Rs 5 lakh a friend in Dubai owed me, as he [Gill] knew several people in there,” the victim was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

The victim then handed over an amount of Rs 18 lakhs to Gill and she was promised returns at the rate of 3 percent per month.

The complainant, however, alleged that she was neither given the principal amount nor the interest which turned out to be Rs 6 lakhs.

“This was on June 15, 2017. I started demanding the remaining Rs 6 lakh with interest from Gill, and he started threatening me and even sent me some obscene pictures of me, telling me not to ask for money, or he would post my obscene photos on social media,” the air hostess said.

The police have registered cases against Gill under the sections Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc), 354 (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.

The story was first published in Mumbai Mirror
