To reach out on the high essentialities for trained manpower in disruptive technologies, the AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) has decided to set up an International Institue of Digital Technologies (IIDT) campus in Vizag which would offer postgraduate and diploma programmes in cyber security.
Speaking to The Hindu, IT Advisor of Chief Minister, J A Chowdary, said,“We are looking for a building to start a PG diploma programme in artificial intelligence and machine learning immediately.”
The IT Advisor also mentioned that Vizag campus would be concentrating on Financial Technology (Fintech) subjects which include blockchain and data sciences starting in LB Bullayya College in the city. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning intake will be 50.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh are committed to shaping Visakhapatnam as a Fintech Valley with a required ecosystem. The IIDT centres would be set up in the likes of ISB-Hyderabad, Mr. Chowdary said.
APEITA is established as an “Empowered Mission for Electronics & IT Promotion” to give a fillip to the development of the sector and take faster and agile decisions.
Already, courses are being offered in IIDT-Tirupati by APEITA. IIDT has been started by APEITA in Tirupati in 2017.
