The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) has opened help desks at all its bill collection centres to facilitate online payments. The help desks have been opened across the five districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East and West Godavari.
Consumers have been facing a problem with paying their bills post the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. With the withdraw limits set at banks and ATMs and the wait to exchange event the limit amount in long queues, people have been struggling to pay their dues on time. The silver lining stands that pharmacies and hospitals in the city have been accepting the old higher denomination notes whenever they can.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Discom MM Nayak confirmed the same that consumers have been facing a problem while paying their bills. The help desks have been set up at their bill collection centres keeping in mind the convenience of the consumers. The aim is to urge consumers to utilise the online payment systems.
Electricity can be paid online through the APEPDCL website or the ‘easternpower’ mobile app. The bills can be paid in the ‘Pay Bill Online’ tab with debit or credit cards. They can also be paid through net banking.
