Under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned by the Centre for the development of Andhra University. The development includes to have at least one e- classroom with all connectivity and audio- visual aids just like that of any professional institutes.
The first installment of Rs 5 crore will be sanctioned as soon as the university submits a detailed project report to the State Government. It has been said that Rs 2 crore will be allocated for the upgradation of the classrooms and the laboratories in the science and engineering departments and another Rs 1.5 crore will be used to install at least one RO plant in every department so as to provide safe drinking water. The college also has plans to renovate and build the toilets in the campus and the hostels for which Ra 1 crore will be sanctioned. And some more funds will be allocated to modernize the kitchen mess.
As there is an increased number of girl students there will be a need of at least one 500 bed girl’s hostel for which there will be Ra 2 crore allocated. The upcoming hostel would have an entire floor dedicated to 24/7 reading room for the girl students.
