Andhra Pradesh is all set to host first National Women’s Parliament in Amravati. The three-day conclave held by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will aim to empower women connecting over 10,000 higher secondary girls with well known women personalities.

Starting on February 10, 2017 the event will carry discussions on women empowerment and political challenges, personality development, and vision for future. 401 women legislators, 91 women Members of Parliament and 300 social and corporate women leaders from India and also overseas will be seen interacting with the girl students.

Reportedly, at a press conference, Butta Renuka, MP from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh said, “It is to make young girls realise their potential, and enable them to take leadership roles in all sectors of life and also to sensitise the society about issues like malnutrition among women and children, sexual harassment and sanitation among others.”

The conclave will have various sessions covering different areas of discussion. The central idea of the event is to facilitate and increase the network between eminent women personalities from different walks of life and girl students participating from all over the country.

Addressing the volunteers and the members of multidisciplinary teams in a meeting, Andhra Pradesh assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao said,”Arrangements should be made at a scale that the event gets etched in the minds of the participants as a memorable experience. To cater the need of delegates, proper sanitation, breakfast and lunch, Wifi availability for media personnel, transport facility and temporary 20-bed hospitals with appointed team of expert doctors will be arranged by the team”.
