“AP becomes the first state in the country to conduct a household survey exclusively to estimate Multidimensional Poverty Index(MPI) at state & district levels. We stand equivalent to 51st rank globally, with an index value of 0.0825, while India stands at 66th position with an index value of 0.1911. MPI is an important indicator which focusses not only on monetary poverty but also on multiple deprivations faced by people,” Mr Naidu commented while sharing the news on social media platforms.
