Horror in Andhra Pradesh: Overspeeding bus hits lorry killing three people

A horrific road accident has come to light in Andhra Pradesh. An overspeeding bus crashed into a lorry near Maddurupadu of Nellore District during the early hours of Thursday.

Reportedly, the bus driver was drowsy while driving the vehicle and lost control before ramming it into a lorry. The bus, which had around 31 passengers on board, was travelling from Visakhapatnam to Bengaluru. The accident has cost three lives while several people have been injured and admitted to a hospital for treatment. The private bus has been identified to belong to Orange Travels.

The deceased have been identified as Praneeth Kumar (20) from Vijayawada, Ramadasu (57) from Vizag and Suryakumari (60) from Rajamahendravaram.

The passengers blamed the driver saying that it was completely his fault. They also complained that the driver was drowsy and overspeeding despite several warnings issued by them.

It has been learned that soon after the accident, the driver fled away immediately fearing the consequences.

A case has been booked against the driver and the police are on the lookout for him.
