As a part of the ‘Amrit Samvaad’, which was launched by the Indian Railways recently to get feedback from passengers on amenities and other issues, Waltair Division Senior DCM Pawan Kumar interacted with commuters at the railway station in Visakhapatnam on 8 October. He sought suggestions from them to serve passengers better.
While some suggested separate washrooms for men and women in coaches, others underlined the need for more focus on cleanliness. Other suggestions include the provision of helpers at escalators for the convenience of the aged.
Launched on 2 October under Special Campaign 5.0 called Amrit Samvaad in New Delhi, the initiative aims at strengthening direct interaction between railway authorities and passengers.
Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Satish Kumar, who inaugurated it, interacted with commuters and sought feedback on amenities.
According to officials, Amrit Samvaad will continue till 31 October at major railway stations, providing a month-long platform for dialogue on passenger experience and service improvements.
