AirAsia will soon be linking Vizag to Bangkok. Launching from 8 December, the airline company will be operating the flights on four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday).
Announcing the launch at a press conference on Monday, Rajkumar Paranthaman, the head of marketing, further informed that the return flights from Bangkok to Vizag will be operating on Monday, Wednesday. Friday and Sunday.
Paranthaman added that the travel to Bangkok from Vizag would now be hassle-free and tourists would be given a visa on arrival at Bangkok. It has also been reported that the airlines will further be connecting to 21 destinations within Bangkok.
AirAsia will be operating these flights at a promotional fare of Rs 2999 one way. Tourists to Thailand can book the tickets up to 21 October to avail this promotional offer. Also, visa on arrival for Indians would be arranged for about Rs 4000.
Cholada Siddhivarn, the Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said that India was an important country for Thailand. She said that while there were about 1.2 million tourists from India last year, the footfall is expected to grow this year.
