AC bus stop to offer respite to RTC passengers in Vizag

In what is expected to provide a huge sigh of relief for the RTC passengers in Vizag, the city’s first AC bus stop was inaugurated by Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman MT Krishna Babu and CMR Group Director Mavuri Balaji on Friday. The bus stop, located near the RTC Complex in the city, has been developed jointly by the Port Trust, CMR Group and Radio Mirchi 98.3, and is expected to provide a cool shelter to those looking to travel from Visakhapatnam to Tagarapuvalasa and Bheemili.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Krishna Babu said, “The facility has turned out really well but maintaining it is a challenge. If utilised responsibly, we believe that this bus stop will serve its purpose well in summer.” Apart from having chairs for passengers, the new AC bus shelter in Vizag is equipped with charging points, LED screen, drinking water facility and FM.

RTC Divisional Manager Sudha Bindu shared delight over the inauguration of the new AC bus stop in Vizag. Stating that RTC always strives to deliver the best to its passengers, she thanked the management of the orgaisations that were involved in the construction of the facility. If the newly built model is successful in meeting the expectations, the authorities also plan to set up more such shelters across the city.

The move is being welcomed by the citizens as well. “Given the blazing weather, the AC bus stop can certainly help those waiting to get on board their bus. However, it is important that the public act responsibly and maintain the shelter well,” shares Lakshmi Narayana, a resident of Vizag.
