5 Bollywood movies of 2017 that you need to watch ASAP

2017 will probably go down as one of the least productive years in Bollywood. Barring Baahubali 2, not many movies managed to get the cash registers ringing. Several big stars, including the likes of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, also failed in striking gold at the box office.

However, as always, there were a few films which succeeded in winning accolades. Here, we present you five must watch Bollywood movies of 2017 that you need to watch at the earliest. Backed with sincerity and a solid script, these movies certainly stood out from the rest.

#1 Newton

India’s official entry to the upcoming Academy Awards, Newton has been hailed as one of the finest films made in the country this year. Amit Masurkar’s brilliant direction and Rajkumar Rao’s terrific performance make Newton hard to miss.

#2 Mukti Bhawan

Apart from providing you salvation from mainstream Bollywood movies, this movie also succeeds in portraying life and death from a new perspective. Director Subhashish Bhutiani’s Mukti Bhawan, with its unassuming characters and humour, can easily be counted as one of Bollywood’s best works this year.

#3 Trapped

How difficult is it to escape from a locked out apartment in a bustling city like Mumbai? Watch Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped to get the answer. An exhilarating plot supported by a splendid performance by Rajkumar Rao, this movie keeps the viewers glued to their seats.

#4 A Death in the Gunj

A Death in the Gunj marked the directorial debut of Konkana Sen Sharma. Backed by some brilliant characterizations and a masterful script that builds suspense with every passing second A Death in the Gunj won hearts all across.

#5 Gurgaon

A dark and thrilling story is what you get while watching this neo-noir movie. Directed by Shanker Raman, this film tells us the mean and twisted story of a family living in Gurgaon. The movie, in spite of its slow narration, does manage to pack a solid punch.

PS- Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai is yet to be released.
