While some had found new hobbies, and some were immersed in the OTT platform- forever binging, here’s a list of people who began their own baking business. From gourmet sweets to birthday cakes to brownies, here’s a list of bakers from Vizag who listened to their heart, followed their passion, and became entrepreneurs during the pandemic.

#1 Bake and Roll by Subhasree Ray

Subha is 21 and also a part-time YouTuber. An ardent fan of Monica Geller, Subha is an expert in baking Brownies. Our personal favourite is her chocochip brownies.

Subha began her business- ‘Bake and Roll’ in July. She has been into baking since she was in high school. However, she didn’t have proper baking equipment until June 2020. Until then, she tried to make everything that didn’t need a cooker. For Subha, baking is bliss and she wishes there were more than 24 hours a day. Eventually, she hopes to open up her café.

#2 Izzy’s Confection and Connection by Jumana Izzy

This 26-year-old makes the most colorful cakes in the city. She caters to every minute detail and bakes her cakes with love and appreciation. Jumana is a housewife and a mother.

Here, you can customize your own cake with Jumana. Apart from birthday cakes, you can also buy cookies, cupcakes, donuts, and more. Jumana always aims to never deprive her customers of the best. “To bake happiness for everyone,” is her prime motto.

#3 Palate-o-Licious by Miteeksha Dhar

Miteeksha rediscovered her love for cooking only after the pandemic- when she left her job as an Innovation Manager. Palate-o-Licious is a curation of lip-smacking gourmet desserts, cheesecakes, custards, and much more. Head to their page to get a glimpse of what this 25-year-old entrepreneur is capable of.

Miteeksha loves to experiment with several new and conventional recipes. The desserts are truly unique and one of a kind. “As a foodie, I’ve always found comfort in my kitchen space and the aroma of it. During the lockdown, I experimented with this interest of mine on a regular basis and decided that I must put together something that can cater to a majority of our consumers that are genuinely looking for unique desserts to fulfill their unconventional dessert cravings,” Miteeksha says.

From a variety of homemade chocolates to muffins, Shweta Agarwal has one of the cutest Instagram feeds. In August, when she began her baking business, she turned her passion into a profession.

Chocozia’s menu is so quirky, it’ll leave you asking for more. Shweta also holds a postgraduate degree in finance. Her prime motto is to be happy and spread happiness through her bakes.
