Visakhapatnam air quality reaches record low, announce Central Pollution Control Board, CPCB

Visakhapatnam pollution levels have shot up and the air quality is at an all time low. This is announced with statistics by Central Pollution Control Board, CPCB.

In recent days the pollution levels in the city of Visakhapatnam have shot up and not just a notch or two. This has lead top a record low in the Air Quality of the city. Statistic to prove so with numbers that will shock anyone have been released both by the Central Pollution Control Board, CPCB as well as the State Pollution Control Board. Not just here but rthe case remains same for different parts of Andhra Pradesh too. The air quality in Visakhapatnam is now at ‘Very Poor’ category.

The figures have been recorded by pollution monitoring centers of CPCB, SPCB which are at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Amaravati, Tirupati and Rajahmundry. These findings are a part of National Air Quality Index. Here is a look at the numbers –

Visakhapatnam – 306, Very poor

Rajahmundry – 294, Poor

Tirupati – 229, Poor

Vijayawada – 123, Moderate

Amaravati – 199, Poor

A cause is the massive scale and places where Bhhogi fires were lit and youngsters have put energy and enthusiasm into bigger fires and more turn out. In the process it was not just organic matter such as wood, logs, dried leaves etc but also plastic, garbage and inorganic matter that has been burnt. In the name of fun and revelry, the atmosphere has been tarnished.

Huge smog patches and grey smoke clouds were witnessed by the city residents. Visakhapatnam that takes pride in being clean and green has been choked and coughing. CPCB, Central pollution Control Board and SPCB have released the figures to sensitize people about the adversities of the pollution caused and to caution against it.
